William is a master of mechanisms, his creations inspiring awe and delight in equal measure. This one of a kind ring is in a realm beyond, it is indeed the stuff pure dreams are made of.

Carousel comes from the old Italian word "carosello," meaning "little war”.

Carousel like contraptions have been used around the world, their first depictions captured in relief carvings from 1500 years ago. It’s said that Italian crusaders in the 12th century observed Arabian games of horsemanship and called them little wars or battles. This later gave way to the Middle Ages where carousels were employed by knights as training tools for combat. The first carousels as we know them did not appear in European carnivals until the 19th century and like this masterpiece have always been feats of engineering.

Truly a one of a kind piece to be treasured for generations to come, full materials and measurements are outlined below.

Made with love in William Llewellyn Griffiths’ Melbourne studio.
