CARE INSTRUCTIONS

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR METAL COUTURE JEWELLERY

Taking care of your jewellery ensures that each piece will last for many years to come and even, many generations.

Remove your jewellery if you will be lifting heavy furniture or if there is a chance it will be knocked/squashed or scraped.

To clean your jewellery use a specialised jewellery or polishing cloth or a microfiber cloth.

You can clean *most stones using warm water, mild dishwashing liquid and a gentle toothbrush. Don't use toothpaste or very hot water. Toothpaste is abrasive and very hot water can crack stones.

*Don't wash pearls or opals with water or soap, only use a soft cloth. Be careful to remove pearl or opal jewellery before washing your hands or swimming they are very porous and don't like soap of any kind.

Keep harsh chemicals and cleaning products away from your jewellery at all times and wear gloves or remove rings and bracelets before using them.

Do a little bit of research on the stones in your jewellery. Emeralds for instance are quite brittle and should be treated with care. Sapphires and rubies are fairly hardy as are diamonds.

Store your jewellery pieces separately in pouches or in their original box.

If your jewellery is looking dirty and dull and you are nervous to clean it yourself, some local jewellery shops will clean your jewellery for you using an ultrasonic cleaning bath and steam cleaner for a small fee.

William works in Melbourne, Australia and his studio is open by appointment. If you'd like to peruse the jewels please visit one of our stockists (we don't keep stock in our studio).
