CATACOMB SAINTS POISON CHAMBER RING
CATACOMB SAINTS POISON CHAMBER RING
The Catacomb Saints Poison Chamber Ring is a lockable poison-ring which comes with it’s own working 18kt yellow gold key measuring 32mm in length threaded on an 18kt gold 45cm (18 inch) chain to be worn around the neck.
This piece is known as a poison ring, a design that became popular in the 16th century, used to slip poison into an enemy’s food or drink. They have also been used throughout history to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes.
A stunning and clever design, it has been entirely hand made (including the locking mechanisms). This magnificent poison ring can be unlocked with the key provided to reveal a tiny secret compartment.
Carefully handcrafted in 18kt gold, the ring’s chamber is topped with a stunning vivid 13.5mm square citrine and is further embellished with black ruthenium plate. The chamber sits aloft a signature William Llewellyn Griffiths split shank and is flanked by two saintly enamelled baroque style skulls, each adorned with a 5.3mm round brilliant cut garnet crown.
Measuring 20mm above the finger and 29.3mm at its widest point this sumptuous ring is definitely a statement piece. It sits comfortably on the hand and has a marvellous weight to it.
The ring weighs 29.35 grams and fits finger size US 10 (Australian & British size T 1/2). Ring size can be adjusted within reason.
The key weighs 9.4 grams, is 32mm in length, 14mm in width, is 4mm at it’s thickest point and comes on it’s own 45cm 18kt gold chain.
