GALERIE DES GLACES RING
GALERIE DES GLACES RING
Flanked by two guardian angels and sitting aloft a gorgeous soft rounded split shank, this stunning gothic cathedral ring exquisitely handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold features a latched chamber topped with a divine aquamarine. It has an inclusion through the centre of it. This magnificent poison ring can be unclasped to reveal the open chamber within the cathedral, the gold and blue conjuring the baroque opulence of Versailles’s Hall of Mirrors.
This piece is known as a poison ring, a design that became popular in the 16th century, used to slip poison into an enemy’s food or drink. They have also been used throughout history to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes.
Measuring 18.5mm above the finger, 23.5mm at its widest point, and 12.7mm along the finger, this decadent memento mori ring is definitely a statement piece. It sits comfortably on the hand and has a marvellous weight to it.
Finger size Australian & British size N (US 6 1/2).
