PARIS GREEN RING
PARIS GREEN RING
The Paris Green ring is dark opulence at it's finest.
This high fashion gothic statement ring is handcrafted in 18ct yellow gold, featuring a central bezel set 8mm x 4.5mm oval cut tourmaline. It’s intoxicating livid green hue mirroring that of it’s namesake.
Laden with arsenic, Paris Green was a sought after Victorian pigment favoured by impressionists, decorators, fashionistas, and flower makers alike; each satisfying their elite clientele. Empress Eugénie, Napoleon and Queen Victoria to name a few. Yet so deadly was it, that to don one of the breathtaking green ballgowns of the 1860s was to dance the “Dance of Death” or the “Arsenic Waltz”.
Circling this mesmerising centre stone, 28 brilliant cut yellow diamonds create the Victorian style halo for this majestic piece, grain set, and approximately 0.20ct in total combined weight.
The ring is 5.48 grams in weight and fits finger size M (Australian & British size) or US size 6. Ring size can be adjusted within reason.
In true William Llewellyn Griffiths' fashion this ring would not be complete without the two intricately detailed, baroque skulls measuring 3mm high perched on either side of the basket setting and held in place by the split shank band.
The ring sits 6.3mm above the finger and measures 24mm high, 19.3mm at its widest point, and 17.9mm lengthways across the halo.
