BURY MY MEDIEVAL HEART RING
Handcrafted in oxidized (blackened) sterling silver with accents of 18ct yellow gold, this ring is pure opulence. Partially polished, partially oxidized, purposely scratched, and featuring an array of exquisite gemstones, this piece will be cherished forever.
In medieval times and particularly during the Crusades, heart burial was popular with monarchs and the upper echelons of society. Revered as the archive of one’s life, in death when the body was far from home, the heart was removed and sent in it’s stead. Packed with spices and wine in boxes of wood, lead or ivory the heart then made the long journey back to one’s lover as a saintly relic of enduring love.
Cradled on it’s signature WLG scrolled split shank the top panel with it’s medieval silhouette resembling the lid of an ornate reliquary features at it’s centre a gleaming white heart shaped diamond (35 pts). On it’s black cross the heart is surrounded by four round brilliant cut pink red rubies each 1mm in diameter. Pave set around the millegrain border of this elaborate altar are twenty six treated black rose cut diamonds.
Measuring 6mm above the finger, 25.5mm high, 21.8mm at its widest point and 18.5mm in depth, this enchanting ring is definitely a statement piece. It sits comfortably on the hand and has a marvellous weight to it.
The ring weighs 7.39 grams in weight and fits a finger size N (Australian & British size) or US size 6 1/2. Ring size can be adjusted within reason.
