HEART OF GOLD POISON RING
HEART OF GOLD POISON RING
A powder for your heart ache, or a sweet for your true love. Beautifully handcrafted in 9ct yellow gold this Victorian style poison ring has a lockable chamber to store whatever your heart desires.
This piece is known as a poison ring, a design that became popular in the 16th century, used to slip poison into an enemy’s food or drink. They have also been used throughout history to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes.
Engraved with beautifully ornate scrollwork, this ring’s heart shaped chamber features an impeccably hand made locking mechanism.
This marvellous ring is accompanied by it’s own working 9ct gold key pendant hung on a delicate 9ct gold trace link chain, 45cm in length.
Sitting 8.3mm above the finger, this ring weighs 12.97 grams and fits finger size N (Australian & British), or US size 6 1/2. Ring size can be adjusted within reason. It measures 28.16mm tall and 22.4mm at its widest point.
The ring’s heart shaped chamber measures 17.23mm lengthways with a width of 19mm and depth of 7.22mm (closed).
