Exquisitely handcrafted in 18kt yellow gold, this stunning gothic cathedral ring features a latched chamber topped with a divine powder blue 15mm x 11.7mm aquamarine.
This magnificent poison ring can be unclasped to reveal the open chamber within the cathedral.
Sitting aloft a signature William Llewellyn Griffiths split shank, the cathedral is flanked by two guardian gargoyles.
This piece is known as a poison ring, a design that became popular in the 16th century, used to slip poison into an enemy’s food or drink.
They have also been used throughout history to carry perfume, locks of hair, devotional relics, messages and other keepsakes.
Measuring 16mm above the finger and 30.8mm at its widest point this sumptuous ring is definitely a statement piece.
It sits comfortably on the hand and has a marvellous weight to it.
The ring weighs 22.78 grams and fits finger size US 11 (Australian & British size V 1/2).
Ring size can be adjusted within reason.
As if not decadent enough, this memento mori ring comes in it's very own four claw hinged box, handcrafted by the none other than William Llewelyn Griffiths himself.
Measuring 55mm x 55mm, it's impeccably fashioned from gold gilded sterling silver with hand bevelled and engraved glass panels.
